An Everlasting Dream

Sometimes I ponder about my ambition by gazing at the dark space above me, seeing the bright stars which glimmer at night.

At the Beginning

My brother and I occasionally cycle to our local park, which luckily has all the essential requisites including a tennis court. So we started to practice, enduring the power of tennis. As a beginner, my games held impression. Both of us gained a proposal to unify with the local tennis club from our dad.

Group Lessons

I put my first steps into the future of my life as we arrived at the tennis club. My excitement sprinted from head to toe as if it was resembling the movement of a tennis ball. It was like a gleaming ball roving at the speed of light. The courts were colourful enough to exceed my expectations. The floor felt like carpet, which I later clarified to be true. My brother and I were the first one’s to arrive for the group lessons. We admired the courts as much as a frequent visit to it.

Every lesson commenced with a loud, deep breath. My hands would twitch when I held the racket. Tardily, I got used to it… As the lessons ended abruptly, I thought that I was never going to conquer the chart. Well, it turns out after a year of hard work and determination I’ve overtaken their lead to a champion-like position. According to our coach, my brother received the 2nd seed and I slid back, still gripping on to fight, into the 4th seed.

Private Coaching

As a few weeks passed on, an advancement came into sight. Our dad gave another amazing proposal for us – we advanced into private coaching. This was our opportunity to reveal the inner potential in matches.

Tournament

The hours, days and months zoomed away when finally there comes out a surprising tennis tournament. It was a sunny Saturday morning with a slight edge of 3 mph wind. Our club loco-mated their way to the Rayleigh tennis club. I heard my name being called out. I felt nervous. I served first. In my whole career I’ve never made these many embarrassing double faults. I was absolutely ashamed. At the end, somehow I managed to win 12 – 8 against the opponent. That was the first match. The progressions stunned me and my team as I whacked the opponents out instantly, bundling points for my team.

On the Newspaper

It was just an ordinary Wednesday. I was walking past the club notice board and then something just popped out. It was a newspaper which had a big bold title that read the words, “Youngsters shine in Tennis.” There were a bunch of kids packed in a huddle looking straight, excepting my club members who won by a close one, taking the lead, with the tournament cup. It surprised me! My mind was going bonkers. What, me in a newspaper? This was surely a dream come true.

I am trying to make the point that my ambition is to become a tennis player. I never thought I would say it but its my goal. I didn’t even have the idea of becoming a tennis player. Its my future now.
