At the heart of the Snowdonia National Park is a family attraction for getting a realistic insight towards the life of a Victorian copper miner. Sygun offers a fantastic self-guided audio tour in an adventurous mine with many explorations to unearth. This captured our interests and our family set out to Wales with one of our Friends’ family, to explore the Sygun Copper Mine and more.

We travelled to Snowdonia by car for an eternal 5 hour journey with an overnight break, like a pitstop, at Birmingham. The morning was arranged for a direct visit to Sygun Copper Mine. Weather didn’t convince us at all on the day that we scheduled this activity at Wales. It stood clear to me that the dog days were gone; it was obvious with the mountainside raining cats and dogs. Admiring the driveway was the norm as it was absolutely stunning, especially at the period of time when the seasons change.

We arrived at our chosen destination which had a queer entrance to it. Our anticipation developed as we saw cool equipment and information lying around in the entrance/museum(compact). After the reletively expensive purchase was complete, we equiped our safety helmets and immersed ourselves into the cave.

From the first cave onwards, we saw copper porous stones which surrounded us almost throughout the tunnel-course. The colourful chambers looked impressive to the eyes with the addition of the reflections on the copper water. I am personally reminded of the feeling that I had when we entered frequently because of the cold drops of water in the colouful tunnels. You will be troubled by the height as you will bash it onto the low rock.

We next explored the stalactites and stalagmite formations that have been there for many years. These formations are described breifly but give you a nice insight towards geological references. The mine has 3d figuires placed here and there to show thier habitation and thier equipment. Don’t be completely captivated by them as there are very steap staircases and dangerous platforms to walk on, which may be responsible for distraction.

As a matter of fact, when we got there, one of our buddies noticed a picture of Bear Grylls at the location which surprised us. He had been there for a documentary along with many other documentaries that were recorded at this tourism-winning wonder of Wales.

A visit to Wales will be one memory with the addition of this to your list; enjoy your journey and vacation at Sygun! For more information about Sygun, click here to be directed to the website where you can grasp hold of anything you’re waiting to be resolved.
