Apple dedicates the month of March to a fantastic Apple Event purely focused on education and how iPads play a significant role in education. With some new announcements and mainly the new Apple Pencil support, the iPad makes school education and accessibility even easier.
New Educational Announcements
Classroom lets you track your students progress in a detailed and private way that enhances your understanding of the students and lets them focus on their weak points. This seamlessness of acknowledging where the student is strong and weak through the Classroom app for Mac makes it ever so easy to improve education.
Classkit is the fundamental collection of apps and games that let students and teachers work together with the new Classroom app and track progress across many students. With ARKit capabilities, the vision of Apple is exceeded and although the number of apps is very limited, developers can help increase the collection to make it more widely available.
Swift and Everyone Can Code have significantly increased and boosted the practice of code in student life. The newly announced Everyone Can Create to take the access to free resources to the next level – applying it to the teaching. Personally, I believe Apple would be able to promote this program and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a great success. Swift now has ARKit facilities that make it even more exciting to work with apps for educational purposes.
A New iPad!
Now with Apple Pencil facilities, the brand new Apple iPad is the perfect device for easy homework and classwork. Let’s get the technical specs underway:
- 8MP Camera – The new HD 1080P resolution camera makes it wonderful to capture great videos, photos and makes video calls with FaceTime easier.
- Awesome Speakers – The New iPad features excellent speakers so you can record and listen to great audio in both your project work and your personalised music library when studying.
- All the awesome stuff left – All the previous fantastic features including Touch ID, Apple Pay, Playgrounds and iOS 11 make the iPad a leap forward and not limited as all the previous stuff have been left and some even improved.
- Increased Cloud Storage – Apple decided to immensely boost the free cloud storage from 5GB to 200GB for education iPads! It is crazy and a wonderful feature to create and save data immense amount of videos, photos, iMovie creations, Garageband creations and iWork homework. I believe Apple took the right decision and they are even close to dominating the education industry with advanced facilities.
As much as the entire 1-hour event was pretty much dedicated on the new iPad, there’s not much to say other than it’s a great product and works fantastically for schools and colleges as an education catalyst. I would personally recommend this product and good luck in your education with the new iPad. Thanks to Apple for a fantastic event with great releases to their education platform.
